Collaboration

Community performance is the heartbeat of everything we do. From music to dance, art to storytelling, we invite cultural groups, performers and organizations of all kinds to join us as we celebrate the shared global roots of humanity in an effort to document our shared traditions and oral histories.

Much of our work focuses on cultural exchange shared through the lens of education. We utilize special programming, panels, exhibits and more to teach ourselves and others the cultural histories and tradition of groups around the world. The Jazz Crawl second-line parade is education in motion: a community performance bringing artists, students, educators, costumers and the general public together to experience culture in real time.

The second-line parade is, at its core, a celebration of life. As such, the Jazz Crawl is marching towards becoming a worldwide party anchored in revelry. In addition to the community-bonding and educational aspects, our “second line around the world” is an opportunity to spread joy after collectively enduring one of the most challenging years in modern history.
