feature length documentary

Spirit to the world

A feature-length documentary built from within the culture of New Orleans. The film is anchored by the city’s culture bearers — Black Masking Indians, Social Aid & Pleasure Clubs, and Brass Bands. Filmed in vérité style with rare behind-the-door access, the project restores authorship to the artists who carry these traditions while building pathways for cultural exchange, touring, and opportunity beyond the screen.
