Cherice Harrison-Nelson

Cherice Harrison Nelson is a culture bearer, visual artist, fashion designer, educator, stage performer, film producer and youth activist. The daughter of the late Big Chief Donald Harrison, Sr., Nelson — known in tribal communities as Queen Reesie — is curator of the Mardi Gras Indian Hall of Fame at New Orleans, managing director of the Guardians of the Flame Cultural Arts Collective, manager of the New Orleans Indigenous Culture Collective, and the education outreach coordinator of the Guardians Institute.
